Absolutely not – and you are far from alone! We hear this all the time, and we mean it when we say there is zero judgment here. Life gets busy, dental anxiety is real, and sometimes visits just slip. What matters most to us is that you’re here now. Our whole team is trained to work with nervous patients. We go at your pace, explain everything before we do it, and make sure you’re comfortable from the moment you walk in. If anxiety is a big concern, ask us about our Sedation Dentistry options – we can help take the edge off completely. Call us first if you’re nervous: (615) 643 0038. Even a quick chat before your visit can help a lot.
That’s a great question to ask, because catching tooth pain early makes a big difference. On-and-off pain can mean a lot of things – a cavity, a cracked tooth, or yes, sometimes an infection that may need a root canal. The only way to know for sure is to come in so we can take a look and do an X-ray. As for root canals – modern root canals are much more comfortable than people expect. Most patients say it feels no worse than getting a filling. Our goal is to save your natural tooth and get you out of pain, not cause more of it. We use gentle techniques and make sure you’re numb and comfortable the whole time. Don’t wait on tooth pain – infections can spread. Call (615) 643 0038 to get seen quickly.
You’ve got some really great choices, and it depends on what kind of result you’re looking for! Teeth Whitening is the fastest route – you can see noticeably whiter teeth in just one in-office visit, or use our take-home trays over a couple of weeks. Dental Veneers are ultra-thin shells that go over the front of your teeth. They fix color, shape, gaps, and chips all at once. Most veneer cases take 2-3 appointments. SureSmile is our clear aligner system – great if your teeth are a little crowded or uneven. Straighter AND whiter? Totally doable. We love smile transformations. Great question, and the honest answer is: it depends on your situation, your health, and your goals. Here’s the plain-English version: Dental Implants are the closest thing to a real tooth. A small titanium post is placed in your jawbone and a crown goes on top. They look, feel, and function just like a natural tooth – and can last a lifetime with good care. Dentures (full or partial) are a removable option that replaces multiple missing teeth. They’re a more affordable upfront solution and have come a long way in comfort and appearance. Dental Bridges are a fixed (non-removable) option that bridges the gap using the teeth on either side as anchors – no implant needed.
Short answer: it’s worth getting checked out. Bleeding gums are one of the most common early signs of gum disease (gingivitis), and the good news is that when caught early, it’s very treatable – and even reversible. A lot of people think a little blood when brushing is normal, but healthy gums shouldn’t bleed. It’s usually a sign that plaque has built up along the gumline and your gums are inflamed. Left untreated, it can progress to more serious gum disease that affects the bone supporting your teeth. We’ll do a gentle gum evaluation, take some measurements, and let you know exactly where you stand. Gum health is connected to your overall health too. Don’t ignore it!
Extractions sound scarier than they usually are. Here’s what to expect in plain terms: During the procedure: We make sure the area is completely numb before we do anything. You may feel some pressure, but you should not feel pain. Just raise your hand anytime if you need more numbing. Right after: Bite down on gauze to help a clot form. Some swelling and mild soreness for 2-3 days is normal. Ice packs, rest, and over-the-counter pain relievers usually do the trick. Eating: Stick to soft foods – yogurt, mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs – for a day or two. Avoid straws, as suction can dislodge the clot. Healing time: Most people feel fine within 3-5 days. We’ll send you home with written aftercare instructions and you can always call us if something feels off.
